KIDS PROGRAM

THE SIX BLADES JIU-JITSU MARTINEZ KIDS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO INSTILL RESPECT, SELF-CONFIDENCE, AND DISCIPLINE, WHILE PROMOTING PHYSICAL FITNESS, MENTAL RESILIENCE, AND VALUABLE LIFE SKILLS THROUGH JIU JITSU.

MIGHTY MITE (AGES 4-5)

The Mighty Mite Program is where our youngest students begin learning the basic movements of Jiu-Jitsu through learning activities and supplemental games to develop their understanding.​

Program Goals:

  • Develop and improve balance and coordination

  • Introduce basic rolls and falls to improve understanding of how the body moves

  • Demonstrate understanding between time for focus and play

  • Improve ability to follow simple instructions

  • Build listening and communication skills

TINY SHOGUNS (AGES 6-7)

The Tiny Shoguns Program focuses on building upon the basic movements of Jiu-Jitsu through technical learning and supplemental games. Students learn our core values of family, respect, loyalty, discipline, attitude, and honor.​

Program Goals:

  • Understand the importance of practicing techniques properly to improve

  • Develop and improve ability to follow multiple instructions

  • Introduce simple escapes and sequence techniques 

  • Instill good behavior and respect for coaches and peers

  • Develop ability to focus in a class setting

Ongoing Development:

  • Improve balance and coordination

  • Ability to focus for longer periods of time

  • Reinforce technical foundation

  • Improve communication skills​

PEEWEE WARRIORS (AGES 8-10)

The Peewee Warriors Program is designed to build upon the Tiny Shoguns Program curriculum by incorporating more advanced Jiu-Jitsu techniques and skills and helping students develop self-confidence.

Program Goals:

  • Develop strength, flexibility, and agility

  • Improve balance and coordination

  • Introduce teamwork skills

  • Develop self-control

  • Improve situational sparring skills

Ongoing Development:

  • Good behavior and respect for coaches and peers

  • Reinforce technical foundation

  • Ability to focus in class setting

  • Follow detailed instructions

  • Improve communication skills

  • Build self-confidence and self-discipline

JUNIOR SAMURAIS (AGES 11-15)

The Junior Samurais Program is our oldest age group, where students gain higher levels of training in preparation for the shift into our Adults Program. Students develop leadership and teamwork skills to build self-confidence that they carry with them on their journey. Students may progress to our Adults Program with permission from the Head Instructor.

Program Goals:

  • Build leadership and problem-solving skills

  • Improve self-awareness and self-control

  • Increase strength and endurance

  • Develop teamwork skills

  • Improve situational sparring skills
