Starting 2025 With A Bang - BJJ Tour California Results

This weekend, our youth competitors took their hard work from the academy to the mat at BJJ Tour California 2025. Both seasoned competitors and newcomers displayed the outcome of discipline, intentional training, and sportsmanship. Below you'll find a full recap of our team's performance, and we're so proud of how every one of our competitors performed:

Kol Mirakaj put his new grey-white belt to the test and overcame numerous triangle choke attempts to bring home his first gold at the grey belt level!

Ryder Grassi pulled out a heart-pounding win with his new grey-white belt by ending his final match with a Kimura and one second left on the clock and securing his gold medal.

Jade Hateley brought the heat in both her Gi and No-Gi matches, even ending her first match within 20 seconds. As a new solid yellow belt, she brought home gold in Gi and silver in No-Gi.

Thomas Mirakaj demonstrated the effectiveness of his submissions in his second tournament and first as a grey-white belt. His submissions earned him a gold medal.

Emma Munkhjin competed in her first-ever tournament and won her first match 13-0. With the tone set, she went on to win her first-ever gold medal. The determination and talent she displays in class hint that this is just the beginning!

Jace Hateley showcased the meaning of perseverance in training, and his efforts paid off with his very first double gold win with a medal each for his Gi and No-Gi divisions.

Leo Munkhjin also competed in his second Jiu-Jitsu tournament. He won his first 2 matches 9-0 and submitted his 3rd round opponent with a rear naked choke, earning him his second gold medal!

Jax Hateley showcased the meaning of enjoying what you do by having a good time during his rounds even while competing against heavier opponents. He brought home 2 medals: bronze in his Gi division and silver in No-Gi.

Reflecting on the Weekend

Our students helped us reach an academy first! Out of 22 teams with kids competitors, our students at 925 Jiu Jitsu placed the Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu team 3rd overall! With a total medal count of 8 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze and every student placing, we are beyond proud of the hard work and dedication our students have put into their training to make this possible with the guidance of Coach Erico and the assistance of our team.

The year 2025 is just getting started, and there are more tournaments ahead to prepare for. Our students have set the bar for themselves, and we look forward to seeing how they push themselves to grow stronger and more technical this year. We want to give a big thank you to our Six Blades family for making all of this possible, and we can't wait to share what this year has in store for 925 Jiu Jitsu and Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu Martinez!
