Strong Performances At BJJ Tour California 2026
Over the weekend, five of our Kids Program athletes stepped onto the mats at BJJ Tour California 2026. Each of them brought focus, determination, and a willingness to challenge their knowledge in live competition. From dominant point victories to clean submissions, the performances given by our competitors reflected the hard work and dedication they put into their training in the weeks leading up to the event.
Shining Bright At BJJ Tour California 2026
DJ Baca displayed excellent control and awareness in both of his matches. He secured a 2–0 victory in his first round, followed by a dominant 6–0 performance in the finals, which earned him a well-deserved gold medal.
Yarrah Taymuree battled a competitive opponent with resilience. She opened with a 3–0 win, dropped a close second match (0–3), and came back with determination to win her third match 4–0. Her efforts earned her a gold medal.
Fox Dyer delivered a standout performance in a redemption match-up, winning both matches by points. He controlled his first match 6–0 and followed with a high-scoring 13–8 victory. He brought home a gold medal.
Lily Enkhbold displayed technical command of top game and guard, submitting a more experienced opponent in 2 rounds—first with an Americana and then with a triangle choke. Her dominant performances earned her a gold medal.
Ryder Grassi stepped onto the mats despite dealing with an ear infection, showing commitment to competing under less-than-ideal conditions. He lost his first match by referee decision and his second by submission, which earned him a silver medal.
Tournament Recap
With a total of 4 gold medals and 1 silver medal for the academy, our athletes delivered an impressive performance this past weekend. More importantly, each athlete walked away with valuable experience, whether it was executing game plans, uncovering areas for improvement, or pushing through adversity.
Competitiions are great places to test one's knowledge, providing valuable insight into what's working, what needs extra work, and how to continue improving both technically and mentally.
We're incredibly proud of each of our athletes, and cannot wait to see how they round out the end of the competition year in the coming months!
